As Europe’s energy landscape undergoes a rapid transformation, the share of intermittent renewable sources like wind and solar power continues to rise, putting grid stability under increasing strain—and creating an urgent need for energy storage systems to provide crucial balancing capabilities. Meanwhile, in densely populated European countries, where land resources are particularly scarce, there are stringent demands on energy storage systems regarding both energy density and footprint. Traditional 40-foot and 20-foot energy storage containers, however, face significant challenges due to their bulky size, heavy weight, and limitations in transportation—often exceeding size and weight restrictions, making it extremely difficult to lift, load, and transport these units. On top of that, the rising costs associated with installing and maintaining energy storage systems further complicate matters. All these competing factors are now pushing the industry to rethink the design of energy storage solutions, emphasizing flexibility, ease of installation, and simplified operations and maintenance.

 

Designed to deliver a brand-new energy storage experience for European users, Qingyun Huichu is innovating and upgrading its single DC energy storage module into an integrated AC/DC energy storage solution: the battery system, BMS, PCS, EMS, fire protection system, liquid cooling system, and more are highly integrated within a 10-foot standard-sized 2.5MWh AC/DC hybrid energy storage unit—while multiple groundbreaking innovations are redefining the user experience.

 

Fully liquid-cooled temperature control, stable and efficient : Adopting an innovatively optimized, fully liquid-cooled dual-loop integrated design, the battery pack and PCS feature independent liquid-cooling channels. Compared to conventional air cooling, this approach boosts heat dissipation efficiency by more than 50%, while keeping the temperature difference between the battery and PCS within a tight 3°C range. This ensures that both the battery cells and IGBTs operate within their optimal temperature window, effectively slowing down degradation, extending system lifespan, and maintaining stable, high-efficiency power output—guaranteeing efficient full-power performance.

 

Modular, precision-based architecture—efficiency doubled : The system employs the parent company’s Yuneng Magic Cube dual-path 520 (2 × 260) kW liquid-cooled string-type PCS, featuring a cluster-control design where each path is independently managed for refined energy monitoring. This approach effectively addresses the capacity loss and circulating current issues inherent in traditional energy storage solutions—commonly known as the "bucket effect"—while boosting the system’s available capacity by more than 5%. Moreover, even if a single battery pack fails, it won’t disrupt the overall operation of the system, significantly enhancing both system availability and ease of maintenance and operation.

 

10-foot high integration, rapid deployment : With its compact design, the 2.5 MWh energy storage system occupies just 7.3㎡ of space. While maintaining a high energy density per unit area, it also features an integrated AC/DC configuration. Each cabinet weighs no more than 23 tons, making it compliant with most European road transportation standards. This not only significantly reduces logistics complexity and transportation costs but also markedly lowers both land-use and civil-engineering expenses. Additionally, its high level of integration greatly simplifies on-site installation and commissioning, shortening the deployment timeline by more than 30%.

 

Empowered by a smart security system, enjoy peace of mind in energy usage. : The integrated cabin has established a four-level, interconnected protection system—spanning "cell-battery pack-cluster-system"—featuring standard partitioned safety isolation and a more efficient multi-layered safety design. Additionally, it’s backed by a comprehensive AI-powered intelligent safety management system, including battery early warning and fault waveform recording, ensuring compliance with Europe’s most stringent safety standards.

 

Smart, full-cycle operations and maintenance—reducing costs and boosting efficiency. : By integrating the intelligent grid digital energy management platform developed by our parent company, YunNeng Magic Cube, we efficiently achieve operations and maintenance tasks such as monitoring and management, strategy optimization, smart operations, and OTA online upgrades. Maintenance personnel can now grasp the overall status of the power station without needing to be physically present on-site, significantly reducing post-operation and maintenance costs.
